DESCRIPTION

MICRO-PAVE® is a heavy duty seal coating that is especially designed to protect and beautify asphalt pavements e.g. airports, commercial parking lots, home driveways, etc. Based on select grades of asphalt resins, minerals, specialty additives and performances boosters, MICRO-PAVE® provides maximum protection against;

* Weathering and traffic damage * Moisture and water penetration * Freeze / thaw cycle damage * Surface raveling and checking

RECOMMENDED USES

MICRO-PAVE® is recommended for all off-street asphalt surfaces that are in sound and stable condition. MICRO-PAVE® provides a rich and uniform textured surface that is durable, skid resistant and easy to maintain.

MICRO-PAVE® may be used on new or old surfaces. It is specially suited for play areas where foot traffic may cause scuffing with conventional sealers.

APPLICATION

1. Surface Preparation:

a. Clean pavement of all dirt, dust and debris. Fill cracks with a hot pour crack filler or STAR STA-FLEX, STA-FLEX SUPREME (cold pour crack fillers).
b. Patch all broken and alligatored areas with either a hot mix or a cold patch material.
c. Prime all oil spots with STAR S.O.S. Primer / Sealer or STAR ONE STEP.

2. New Pavements:

New asphalt surfaces shall be cured (approx. 90 days @ 70+ deg. F.) to allow light surface oils to oxidize. Perform a water break test by spreading some water on the asphalt surface. If water does not bead and spreads evenly, it is ready for seal coating.

3. Preparation of the material (Mix Designs):

MICRO-PAVE® is supplied in a concentrated form that has to be mixed with water, sand and additives (optional), according to the following general formula;

The material shall be mixed to a uniform consistency and kept agitated during application. The use of an additive is recommended to boost the performance of the seal coating system, by enhancing durability, flexibility and toughness.

4.  Method of Application:

Airless spray, mechanical squeegee, hand tools-brushes and squeegees. Apply the first coat with suitable equipment and allow to dry thoroughly before applying the second coat. The final coat shall be allowed to dry at least 24 hours, under good drying conditions prior to allowing traffic.

Temperature: Min. 60 F. and forecasted for the next 48 hours.
Relative humidity: Less than 60% is preferred, max. 80%.
Do not apply on rainy, foggy or extremely humid days.

7. Exclusions: 

Do not use MICRO-PAVE® over chip seal or disunite sealed surfaces.
